Networking

Networking is the process of accessing and manipulating files through communications pathways between workstations, printout devices such as print servers, and storage units such as file servers allowing file, print and internet sharing.  DEP uses communications technology and other means to link organizations and allow them to work together on common objectives. Networking provides not only design, programming, development and operational support for LANs, WANs and other networks but also supports client/server applications, provides telephony support, and high-speed or real-time audio and video support.

Types of Networking:

Structured Wiring

Wireless

In addition, ever-larger numbers of people are relying on technology directly or indirectly.  Some common forms of wireless equipment in use today include: Cellular phones and pagers, Global Positioning System (GPS), Cordless computer mouse or keyboards, Cordless telephone sets, Two-way radios, and Wireless LANs or local area networks and Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM).  Unlike structured wiring, there is an increased risk with wireless and with that comes the need for increased security.  DEP can provide you with the most appropriate wireless solution for your home or office while also establishing a means of security that suits your needs.
